History. The Curtiss-Wright C Commando is a low wing, twin engine, monoplane, with a retractable, tailwheel landing gear. Powered by two Pratt and Whitney R Double Wasp, 18 cylinder, air cooled, 2, hp (1, kW), radial engines, it is capable of seating up to 34 passengers, 40 troops, or carry lbs (6, kg) of cargo.
